Knee Injuries

From a partial MCL tear to full ACL rehab: we combine manual therapy with medical training therapy (MTT) right in the gym — and work with the region’s leading knee surgeons.

Key facts

Typical complaints we treat

When to see a physio about knee problems

Knee pain is rarely harmless — and rarely clear-cut. Twisting injuries, contact injuries and overuse can look similar on the surface, but the consequences are completely different. Come and see us if your knee remains unstable, swells or locks after a fall or twisting injury. We carry out a structured initial assessment with clinical tests before we start treating.

Conservative or surgical — and where we come in

Many knee complaints can be treated conservatively — and the evidence supports this as the right first choice for degenerative meniscus damage and many partial MCL tears. If surgery is needed (ACL reconstruction, meniscus repair, cartilage surgery), we support both phases: prehab before the operation to help shorten rehab, and a structured aftercare protocol afterwards.

What makes MTT different with us

With us, MTT doesn’t happen in a back room — it takes place in the main area of our Sport Performance Center, with the same equipment the pros train on. For the knee, that means isokinetic testing, force plates and jump tests decide the timing of your return to sport — not gut feeling.

Frequently asked questions

How long does rehab take after ACL surgery?

A full ACL rehab usually takes 6–9 months until you are cleared for sport. We divide it into four phases — right after surgery the focus is on mobility and reducing swelling, strength building starts around week 6, and sport-specific loading begins from month 4. Return-to-sport tests decide clearance, not the calendar.

Does UVG accident insurance cover my therapy after a sports accident?

For sports accidents, Swiss accident insurance (UVG) covers 100% of the treatment costs. You don’t need a prescription — we sort out the registration with the insurer directly.

What is the difference between MTT and conventional physiotherapy?

Medical training therapy (MTT) is dosed, progressive loading using training equipment — it complements manual therapy. With us, MTT takes place in the main area of the Sport Performance Center, not in a therapy back room.

Do I need a doctor’s prescription?

For billing through basic health insurance (KVG), yes — with a doctor’s prescription. Not for a sports accident registered with UVG accident insurance. Self-payers can book at any time without a prescription.
