Strength Testing
Isometric strength diagnostics on dedicated testing machines. Legs in 30 minutes, complete with trunk and glutes in 60 minutes. Side-to-side comparison, muscle-group ratios, deficit detection — before a deficit turns into an injury. Included as complete lower-extremity maximal strength in the Basic, Strength & Jump and All-In packages.
At a glance
- Duration: 30 minutes (legs) or 60 minutes (complete)
- Price: CHF 100 legs (quadriceps, hamstrings, adductors/abductors) · CHF 240 complete (legs plus trunk and glutes)
- Suitability: from age 14; also used as a progress check during rehab
- You receive: PDF report + consultation — values per muscle group, symmetry index
Seven measuring points. A complete strength map.
- Quadriceps (N, Nm/kg) — maximal isometric strength of the knee extensors. Knee stability and a key return-to-sport criterion.
- Hamstrings (N, Nm/kg) — maximal strength of the knee flexors. Feeds the H/Q ratio, an injury-risk indicator.
- H/Q ratio (%) — hamstrings-to-quadriceps ratio, used for knee injury prevention.
- Adductors / abductors (N) — inner and outer thigh strength. Hip stability and groin complaints.
- Trunk (N, complete only) — flexion, extension and lateral flexion against resistance. Trunk stability and back complaints.
- Glutes (N, complete only) — hip extensors and abductors in side-to-side comparison. Leg axis, sprint and jump power.
- Side-to-side comparison (% difference) — left vs. right for every muscle group. A deficit above 10% means targeted strength work is needed.
What your PDF report contains
- All measured parameters, put in context against your age group
- Individual training zones with heart-rate and watt ranges
- A training plan for the next 8–12 weeks — in the detailed analysis (CHF 80, within 24 h; included in Run Technique, Endurance and All-In)
- A re-test recommendation with the option to compare results
Frequently asked before booking
What actually happens during strength testing?
On a testing machine fitted with a force sensor, you push with maximum effort against a fixed resistance for 3–5 seconds. We measure the maximal isometric force for each muscle group, left and right separately, and evaluate the results as ratios and a symmetry index.
Is it painful or dangerous?
No — isometric maximal-strength tests are safe and pain-free (static, no joint movement). With acute injuries we only test the unaffected side, or at sub-maximal level.
Which athletes benefit most?
Anyone for whom symmetry matters: runners, team athletes, hockey and volleyball players — and everyone in rehab, where the side-to-side deficit is the return-to-sport criterion.
Do I need sports clothing?
Yes — bring your own training clothes and shoes. Depending on the muscle group, we test barefoot or in a thin sports shoe.
When does a re-test make sense?
After 6–8 weeks of targeted strength training (especially in rehab), or once per season in competitive sport.
Strength testing: CHF 100 (legs, 30 minutes) · CHF 240 (complete, 60 minutes) · Kloten. Re-test within 12 weeks: 10% discount.
Booking: lactate testing can be booked online via the booking page; all other diagnostics are booked by phone — 044 803 91 19 (Kloten). Testing sessions are held in German or English.
